Due to demand Byrne Trailers have the following positions available to join our Wagga and Toowoomba factories. We have positions available for first and second class welders. The successful applicant will be required to carry out maintenance and repair work on livestock trailers and aluminum tippers. Qualifications/Experience Required:
Industry experience in Metal Fabrication/Welding and demonstrate skills in use and care of welding equipment, MIG Welding and Oxy-Acetylene Cutting and Gouging
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Dependable, Reliable and Punctual
Experience in and ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Knowledge of standard practice, tools, and materials
Demonstrate ability to identify /manage workplace hazards and risk and comply with company procedures
Proven numeracy and literacy skills
Demonstrate ability to use own initiative and be resourceful and proactive

The position will suit a motivated Design Engineer, Solid works experience will be an advantage.
Byrne Trailers in a leading manufacturer of heavy commercial trailers, with a head office and main manufacturing facility in Wagga Wagga NSW, and a sales and service facility in Toowoomba.
Established over 40 years ago and servicing all parts of Australia, Byrne Trailers is recognised as the market leader in Livestock Trailers, and is also active in the supply of heavy commercial trailers for bulk transport and waste management.
Byrne Trailers have identified a need to increase the capabilities of the Engineering Department at the Wagga Wagga facility, as they prepare for increasing sales with an expanded product range. The success with livestock trailers has been due to innovative designs and production techniques, and Byrne Trailers plans to not only continue to evolve their livestock products, but to also continue to develop new solutions for their customers in other transport market segments.
This advertised Design Engineer position will suit a motivated person, with an ability to work in a team environment. Some of the responsibilities are;
The preparation and maintenance of drawings using Solidworks (3D)
Preparing the drawing packages for the factory from customer orders
Involvement in innovation projects, to either develop new equipment or to improve current designs
Design of factory jigging as required
The key attributes that will be considered;
Clear and concise communication skills
Ability to work as a part of a team
Experience with Solidworks (3D) will be viewed most favourably
Tertiary qualifications will be viewed favourably
Engineering office experience with other heavy commercial trailer builders will be viewed most favourably
This position will report to the engineering manager, and is a permanent position based in Wagga Wagga NSW.
Remuneration will be dependant on skills and experience.
